How Imperium Auto Glass Took Over South Houston on Google Maps

Most auto glass marketing agencies focus on downtown. We went south. Imperium Auto Glass operates out of Webster, TX and serves the entire south Houston corridor — Texas City, League City, Pearland, Friendswood, Dickinson, Galveston. Good team, mobile service, competitive pricing. But when customers in Texas City searched for windshield repair, Imperium didn't show up. Safelite did. The big directory sites did. Imperium was nowhere. We fixed that.

The Problem: Spending Money on Ads and Getting the Wrong Calls

Before Glass Revenue, Imperium was running Google Ads but bleeding money on clicks that never turned into jobs. The campaigns were targeting too broad, pulling in searches from areas they couldn’t serve efficiently and keywords that attracted price-shoppers instead of buyers.
On the organic side, Imperium had zero Google Maps visibility in the south Houston cities that matter most. Customers in Texas City, League City, and Pearland were searching “windshield repair near me” and finding everyone except Imperium.
The ad budget was being spent. The phone wasn’t ringing enough. And when it did ring, half the calls were from the wrong part of town.

WHAT WE DEPLOYED

01

Google Ads — Rebuilt to Stop Wasting Money

We didn’t just “manage” the existing ads. We tore them down and rebuilt from scratch.
The old campaigns were targeting broad Houston-area keywords with no geographic precision. We narrowed the targeting to the south Houston corridor — Texas City, League City, Pearland, Friendswood, Webster, Dickinson — and cut everything else. No more paying for clicks from Katy or The Woodlands when Imperium’s techs are based 45 minutes away.
We also killed the low-intent keywords. Searches like “auto glass cost” and “windshield repair DIY” were eating budget without generating a single booked job. We replaced them with cash-buyer keywords: “windshield replacement near me,” “mobile auto glass Texas City,” “same day windshield repair League City.”
The result: same budget, significantly more booked jobs. Not because we spent more — because we stopped wasting what was already being spent.
02

Google Maps — From Invisible to Showing Up in the Map Pack

The Google Business Profile needed serious work. We optimized it end to end:
  • Rebuilt the business description with local auto glass keywords targeting south Houston
  • Added service area cities: Texas City, League City, Pearland, Friendswood, Galveston, Dickinson, Alvin, Seabrook
  • Uploaded high-quality photos of the shop, the team, and completed jobs
  • Launched a review generation system to build consistent 5-star reviews
  • Started weekly Google Posts to signal activity to Google’s algorithm
  • Synced Name, Address, and Phone across 50+ directories to eliminate listing inconsistencies
The goal wasn’t just to show up — it was to show up in the Map Pack for specific south Houston cities. When someone in Texas City searches “windshield repair,” Google now shows Imperium as a local option, not a shop 30 miles away.
03

Local SEO — City Pages That Rank

Imperium needed to rank organically in every city they serve. We built dedicated city landing pages — Texas City, League City, Pearland, Friendswood, Galveston, and more — each targeting local auto glass keywords specific to that area.
This isn’t template copy with the city name swapped out. Each page has unique content that speaks to that community, targets the right local search terms, and drives calls from customers who are ready to book.

Google Maps visibility

in the south Houston corridor. Imperium now shows up in the Map Pack when customers in Texas City, League City, and surrounding areas search for auto glass services.

Ad spend efficiency improved.

Same budget, better results. By cutting broad targeting and low-intent keywords, the cost per actual booked job dropped. Every dollar now goes toward customers who need a windshield and are ready to pay — not toward researchers, DIYers, or people in the wrong zip code.

South Houston territory locked down.

With city-specific landing pages ranking organically and Google Maps showing Imperium for local searches, the south corridor is covered from Pearland to Galveston.

Why South Houston Was the Right Play

Every auto glass shop in Houston fights over the same downtown keywords. “Windshield replacement Houston” is a bloodbath — Safelite, national directories, and 50 independent shops all competing for the same searches. South Houston is different. Texas City, League City, Friendswood — these are underserved markets where smart targeting beats big budgets. A shop that owns the Map Pack in Texas City doesn’t need to outspend Safelite in downtown Houston. They just need to show up where Safelite doesn’t bother. That’s the territory strategy. Don’t fight for the whole city. Own the zone where your shop actually operates.

What This Means for Your Shop

If you're an auto glass shop spending money on Google Ads and not sure where the money goes, the problem usually isn't the budget — it's the targeting.
If you're not showing up on Google Maps in the cities you actually serve, you're invisible to the customers who live closest to you.

And if you're competing head-to-head with Safelite on broad Houston keywords, you're fighting a war you can't win. But you can win the battle in your territory. Your territory might still be available.
